Nurses Gain Recognition from the President
Wednesday, President Obama addressed nurses across the country in a meeting with the American Nurses Association. Expressing gratitude to nurses for helping to back the recently passed health care law, the President said that nurses are the “beating heart” of the health care system in the U.S.A.

For years, nurses have played a major role in changes in our nation’s health care. Out numbering physicians by very marginal numbers, it only stands to reason that our nurses should have a voice in what happens to our health care system. After all, it is the nurses that work the front lines on a daily basis, and hear input from patients and health care administrators alike. This puts nurses in a prime position to both represent our health care system, as well as the patients they serve.
